FIRST TUESDAY: NEW LOCATION!
We're going to try out a brand-new business in the neighborhood for our next Golden Gateway Tenants Association First Tuesday social!
Please join us from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at Seaside on Pier 3 in the former location of the Plant Cafe. We'll be inside near the bar area and have a couple of reserved tables. Happy hour runs until 6 p.m. and includes $6 beers and house wines, $7 well drinks and $8 select cocktails. Food specials include warm olives for $5, pizzas for $9-10, Caesar salad for $8 and oysters, six for $12.
BONUS: GGTA is springing for several pizzas to get the party started, so come early before they're all gone! And as always, if your birthday falls in September, we'll buy you a drink.

FIRE SAFETY PRESENTATION 7 P.M. AUG. 31
We've sent several notices out via email, Facebook, Nextdoor and door hangers about an important Fire Safety Presentation at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at the Gateway Theatre (formerly Eureka Theatre), 215 Jackson St. It is free and open to all Gateway residents, so please tell your friends.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration is not required, and no one will be turned away as long as there are seats available. However, the San Francisco Fire Department would appreciate it if you could register using Eventbrite. Please go to this link, set up a free account and register:
Inspector Fernando Juarez of the San Francisco Fire Department will give tenants essential information on fire prevention and dealing with a fire emergency.
GGTA has been working on hosting a fire safety event ever since a fire broke out in the garbage chute in Vista South on Jan. 16, 2017. Tenants had numerous questions about procedures and fire safety, which will be addressed by Gateway management in this presentation.
Thank you to the management of the Gateway Apartments and Townhomes for sponsoring this event, which was organized by the Golden Gateway Tenants Association, and to 42nd Street Moon, the new management of the theater.
This information is particularly timely given the recent fatal fires at residential high-rises in London and Honolulu. Two fires at residential high-rises happened this month as well in Dubai, at the unfortunately named 84-story Torch Tower (the second time in two years that the building caught fire) and the 73-story Tiger Tower. Thankfully, no injuries were reported at either of those. Let’s all pitch in to make sure that in case of a fire at the Gateway, everyone is safe.
What: Essential information on fire prevention, dealing with a fire emergency, fire procedures and fire safety
Who: Inspector Fernando Juarez of the San Francisco Fire Department and Gateway management will speak; ALL Gateway residents are urged to attend – bring a friend!
When: 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31
Where: Gateway Theatre (formerly Eureka Theatre), 215 Jackson St.
Info: Please register at http://sffdhighrisefiresafety.eventbrite.com; send questions to firstname.lastname@example.org
HAVE YOU NOTICED OUR NEW LOOK?
A huge "thank you" goes out to Gateway resident Heather Howland, who graciously provided us a snappy new logo that we're using on email newsletters, our Facebook page and our website. We love it and hope you do, too!
